Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get my flowers to you?

It is VERY important that we receive the flowers as soon as possible after your event. The fresher the flowers are when we receive them, the better the final product turns out. If you live in the Denver, CO area, we can arrange a drop-off. If you live elsewhere, we would still love to work with you, but you will need to overnight your flowers to us. We will send you instructions on how to ship your flowers after you place your order, and you can add-on a shipping materials package when you check out.

Please keep your flowers in water in a cool place (or refrigerated) until you are ready to drop them off or ship them.

What is the timeline?

We will press your flowers as soon as we receive them. It typically takes 5-6 weeks for the flowers to fully dry, sometimes longer for varieties with a high water content. Once they are out of the presses, we will start to draft an arrangement for your piece. We will send photos along the way and ensure that you are happy with the design before finalizing it. Please budget around 3 months for the process from start to finish.

What should I expect out of the finished product?

We will do everything we can to create a piece that you love, but there are a few things you should know. When flowers are pressed and dried, colors naturally darken (red to burgundy, white to ivory, etc.). While we cannot guarantee that every flower will be used, we will dry all of the flower varieties in your bouquet and select the ones that turn out best to use in the finished frame.

Please also note that it is natural and expected for the colors to fade a bit over time. In order to delay this process, please keep your finished piece out of direct sunlight.

Are there any flowers that you cannot press?

Since this process involves nature, there will inevitably be variability when pressing flowers, but we have found that certain flower types work better than others. For example, tropical varieties, white orchids, chrysanthemums, and calla lilies typically do not press well. Flowers with thick, woody stems, such as protea, will be too thick to fit in the frames, but we can press the petals to include.

Please also note that flowers that have been sprayed with glitter or harsh chemicals do not preserve well.

Can you press all-white bouquets?

While we can work with all white bouquets, we require that there is at least greenery incorporated, and the best results are achieved when there is a variety of flower types. Otherwise, the piece will end up looking one-dimensional. Also, please note that white flowers often turn ivory or a bit darker during the pressing process. This is natural and should be expected.

Please note that we only accept all-white bouquets from brides local to Colorado as it is especially important to receive the flowers ASAP after your event in the case of all-white flowers.

Can you incorporate other sentimental elements (photos, ribbons, lace, etc.) into the piece?

Yes, we can! Please note this when you order and be sure to include the elements when you send your flowers. The items to add must be flat in order to be included. See our gallery for examples.

What occasions should I consider for pressed flower art?

Weddings are the most common occasion for pressed flower art, but it makes a great keepsake for engagement parties, memorials, baby showers, milestone birthday parties, and more! You can also purchase smaller accent frames with the purchase of a main piece to give as gifts.
